As Chief Operating Officer, I look after the day to day operations of the company; from recruitment to internal processes and HR functions, client and contract management and financial governance and control.
With 25 years experience in Project and Programme Management, I like to support our teams to ensure successful deliveries into our clients whilst ensuring Origin8tive is a fun and rewarding place to work.
I obtained a degree in Business Management and Information Technology from The University of Gloucestershire and always aim to ensure that Origin8tive is a supportive, diverse yet inclusive organisation, with a people first philosophy. I believe that building a strong culture for our people is the key to our continued success and that everything can be sorted over a cup of coffee!
When I’m not working I mainly enjoy travelling, putting as much tech in our home without my partner noticing, and socialising with friends.
As the founder and Managing Director of Origin8tive I’m very proud of what we have achieved to date but I’m ever more excited about where we are taking the business in the new world of Cyber Security and Software Engineering.
With over 30 years of experience in the test profession, working with safety critical systems such as Heart Lung bypass equipment to Air Traffic Control. The past 15 years of my career has been in Security and Cyber, where I’ve observed the traditional role of testers evolve into embedded software engineers.
My vision for Origin8tive is to continue growing with our current client, whilst expanding with new partnerships and recruitment. I'm excited about the new Cyber Park coming to Cheltenham and the opportunity for us to expand into shiny new premises.
People tell me that my resting face is a scary one, but I promise you I don’t bite!
To relax and unplug, I like to throw myself down steep descents on a mountain bike or spend days standing in frozen rivers trying to snag a wild Salmon, clearly an all-round life of extremes !
I started my career 15+ years ago in a first line helpdesk role and haven’t looked back. Working my way through field engineering and management roles before specialising in Cyber Platforms. Having been responsible for the technical design and implementation of a National Cyber Platform I’ve seen my work make a real difference.
At my heart I thrive on bringing a team together and solving challenging technical problems. My work experience at school was teaching in a local secondary school and my love of sharing knowledge and mentoring those around me has stuck with me.
There is a family story always told at gatherings of how when I was still young enough to be crawling I managed to remove the fuses from the consumer unit in our family home. I guess the need to fiddle with and understand technology has been with me from the beginning!
When I’m not thinking about tech I enjoy an electronics hobby and spending time in the wilderness with our two Labradors. I’ve also recently started a campervan conversion.
